Artwork Information

• Gemaco takes great care to insure that all customer-provided artwork files result in the best possible product. Please note that some designs, although formatted in accordance with these requirements, may still be unsuitable for superior commercially printed results. In such event, Gemaco may request an appropriate file or, if authorized, revise the file at the customer’s expense.
• Gemaco graphics and creative services start at $120(x) per hour.

SOFTWARE FORMATS

• Adobe - Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign (CS3 or lower)

FOIL STAMP ARTWORK

• Acceptable vector art files: .eps, .ai, .pdf
• Acceptable photo art files: .tif, .psd, .jpg, .eps, .bmp at minimum 1200dpi at imprint size (See Illustration A)
• Convert fonts to outlines/paths to avoid possible text modifications (See Illustration B)
• No screens, gradients or placed images
• Unacceptable files: .gif, .png, Corel Draw .cdr, or Microsoft Office files (Word .doc, PowerPoint .ppt, Publisher .pub etc.)

Custom Design Artwork

• Acceptable vector art files: .eps, .ai, .pdf
• Acceptable photo art files: .tif, .psd, .jpg, .eps, .bmp at minimum 300dpi at card bleed size (See Illustration A)
• Convert fonts to outlines/paths to avoid possible text modifications (See Illustration B)
• If a file contains a photo or placed image file must be at least 300dpi.*
• *Gemaco does not guarantee the quality of any photo/placed image file less than 300dpi and cannot verify the resolution without the original file.
• Color profile: U.S. Sheetfed Coated v2
• All black text must be 100% black only
• Save each design as an individual file with a name designating its purpose (e.g., card_back.ai; 2_spades.ai; 7_diamonds.ai).*
• *Download templates
• Please provide the following:
• All PMS color numbers
• All CMYK value percentages
• An accurate color proof (CMYK files only)
• Contact name, phone number, and email address of file creator
• No RGB–please convert to CMYK before sending file
• Unacceptable files: .gif, .png, Corel Draw .cdr, or Microsoft Office files (Word .doc, PowerPoint .ppt, Publisher .pub etc.)

Sending Artwork

• Artwork under 6MB may be emailed to graphics@gemacocards.com
• Artwork over 6MB must be uploaded to ftp://ftp1.gemacocards.com
